Hey there,
I'm Marianne Delgado!

I am a graphic designer based in the Rome and Athens area in Georgia, USA. I graduated in 2023 with a BFA in Graphic Design
and a Certificate of Computing.

 

Honestly, I can't believe my time at UGA is over, either!

Ever since I was young, my family could find me with watercolors, pens, or markers, trying to paint the coolest portrait of whatever video game character I was obsessed with. I grew up with an older brother who introduced me to gaming, leading to my interest in technology. Say what you want, but GameCube games are the best way to test your bond with your sibling!

 

I combined the two passions by teaching myself digital art on the family computer and a graphics tablet that I was gifted early in elementary school. I owe a lot to those in my early life who believed in me to pursue art even when I didn't think I was going to.

 

My love for illustration and technology ultimately became the reason why I delved into design as a career. I grew not only as a designer through my education but also as a person.

 

I discovered myself as a proud Filipino woman working with UGA FSA. I encountered UX/UI design and research and vowed to make my designs accessible to as many audiences as possible. My past experience at The Red & Black and my current job at Shaw Industries taught me to carry myself as a creative in the corporate space.

 

As a junior designer, I am a firm believer that even though I’ve completed my academic journey, there is always more for me to do in bettering myself. And even when all else fails, those same watercolors, pens, and markers will always be there to comfort me and remind me why I did this.

When I'm not designing, you can find me doodling obsessively, reading my crazy backlog of horror books, lifting heavy weights, or trying (and failing) to cook my mom's Filipino recipes as well as she does.
